Supporting Good Care Through the Torbay Care Charter

Over the past 18 months we’ve worked with around 150 care home residents, as well as staff, relatives and others working within the care sector.  Together we co-designed the Torbay Care Charter and then worked with a number of care homes to look at how it could be integrated and embedded within the home.  Staff from a variety of care homes across Torbay participated in workshops on ‘Embedding the Torbay Care Charter’, gaining new skills and confidence for using the Care Charter in practice to support good care.

‘I am completely inspired and have been given so many brilliant ideas that I can’t wait to move forward with them. I see the use of the Care Charter within our home as a long term plan and I will be passing on the benefits of using it to anyone and everyone I can within care’

Encounters would like to thank everyone in Torquay, Paignton and Brixham who got involved and helped make this such a meaningful project.  We look forward to working together again.

The project was funded by Torbay Council and Torbay Culture working in partnership through the lottery-funded Great Place Scheme, and delivered by Encounters. You can find out more in the report ‘Torbay Care Charter: what does good care look like?
