Patch Efford - ready to go!

Sunday, April 28, 2013

From visiting the community, selecting sites, meeting local residents, recruiting participants to designing gardens, it’s been a busy few weeks as the team prepare for the launch of the fifth A Little Patch of Ground project this year in Efford.

Some of the team exploring Efford’s green spaces.
A site has been chosen on Torridge Way outside St Paul’s Court and this will be where the Patch main garden is based. As Efford has so many amazing green spaces (and an interest in growing) there are also some other spots in Efford the team plan to input to as well as trying to give the residents the tools to keep growing food in the future. Patch facilitators, Rebeh and Emilio have already laid the foundations of the garden, with support from people in Efford, and the highly visible site is provoking lots of curiosity and excitement from everyone.

The project will start tomorrow evening, Monday 29th April and the team are very excited to meet the 27 participants age 30 - 70 who have signed up and to start the project rolling! We’ll blog each week, so please keep checking : ) You can also visit the Flickr gallery to see images from the project by clicking here.
